Bridgeport is a historic city in Fairfield County, Connecticut. With an estimated population of 144,399 residents, it’s also the largest city in the state. The city was founded in 1836. Most people are surprised to learn that Bridgeport is actually very close to Manhattan and The Bronx in New York. The city is 60 miles from Manhattan, and 40 miles from The Bronx.

Bridgeport is a beautiful city with several attractions for residents and tourists to enjoy. One such location is the Barnum Museum, which is dedicated to PT Barnum. Barnum was one of Bridgeport’s most successful entertainers and entrepreneurs, most notable for his famous circus.

Bridgeport is also known for being relatively safe when it comes to its streets. Bridgeport had only three fatal accidents in 2019. Of those three, only one was caused by a drunk driver. That’s a big drop from the 10 fatal accidents experienced in 2018.
