Hampton is a beautiful city located on the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. The city provides gorgeous views of the water and miles of shoreline. Hampton is a part of the Hampton Roads region, and is at the center of the East Coast.

Hampton was founded in 1610, and is one of the oldest cities in the US. It would surprise city founders to know that the population has reached 135,041. The city was also voted one of the best places to live by Money magazine. That’s something that city founders would feel proud about.

Hampton receives high marks when it comes to its diverse collection of businesses, universities, and government agencies. But the marks aren’t so high when it comes to driving in the Hampton Roads area.

The Hampton Roads area was ranked number 12 on a list of the worst drivers. This ranking put Hampton Roads ahead of Miami, Dallas, and Detroit – which are cities with much larger populations. And the state of Virginia was ranked number 3 as one of the states with the worst drivers. These rankings are based on the total number of traffic tickets, DUIs, accidents, fatalities, and speeding tickets given in a state.

Seems that Hampton residents might benefit from a defensive driving course. It’s certainly worth considering when you look at the statistics. Have you received a traffic citation in Hampton? Perhaps a defensive driving course can make things better for you. You can possibly get your ticket dismissed, and improve your driving skills.
