Lansing is a city in Michigan, of which it’s also the capital. The city is located in three counties – Ingham County, Eaton County, and Clinton County. According to the US Census Bureau, Lansing has a population of 117,159 residents. It’s also the fifth largest city in the state.

The Lansing metropolitan area is known locally as Mid-Michigan. It’s an important part of the city, as it’s the main location for education, government, culture, and business. Speaking of education, Lansing is home to one of the top-rated universities in the US – Michigan State University. The university has more than 30,000 students, and is a major source of local employment.

The state of Michigan is known for having good drivers. Out of all US states, Michigan drivers rank among the best. Michigan drivers receive fewer speeding tickets, fewer citations, and have fewer traffic fatalities. However, these statistics are based on drivers who have insurance. Drivers without insurance weren’t figured into the equation.

If you’re a Lansing resident, chances are you’re a good driver. But that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t benefit from a defensive driving course. If you want to become a better driver, a defensive driving course is worth considering.
