The city of Sioux Falls is located in the counties of Minnehaha and Lincoln in South Dakota. The city has been called one of the best places to live in the US. Sioux Falls is also one of the healthiest and happiest cities in the US.

Based on research, Sioux Falls is certainly a good place to raise a family. The city also has very little traffic, and a low rate of traffic accidents.

South Dakota had an increase in traffic fatalities in 2020. But it was the first increase since 2014. The Department of Public Safety says there were 126 fatal traffic accidents that resulted in 135 deaths. That’s the highest it’s been since 2014, when there were 136 deaths.

It’s believed that Sioux Falls has fewer accidents because fewer people commute. And those who do commute generally spend less than 16 minutes per trip. Short commutes and fewer drivers usually mean fewer traffic accidents.

If you’re in Sioux Falls, you live in a city with a pretty good driving record. Still, you might want to take a defensive driving course – just to brush up on your skills. It never hurts to take a refresher course.
