Stamford is located in Fairfield County, and has a population of 129,638. Based on population alone, Stamford is the third largest city in Connecticut. Twenty-eight Puritan families from Wethersfield, Connecticut settled Stamford in 1641.

Stamford has one of the largest financial districts in the US. There’s only one larger, and it’s located in New York City. Nine Fortune 500 companies call Stamford home, and the city has more corporations than just about any other US city.

Stamford is known for its tourism, financial services, healthcare, information technology, and telecommunications. The city has certainly come a long way since its 1641 beginnings. Stamford has many good things to offer, but with the good comes the bad.
