Austin Defensive Driving

The city of Austin is near and dear to my heart.  I lived there for three of the best years of my life as I helped build Aceable (which can certainly help you with a Texas defensive driving course on your mobile phone via an app experience) from the ground up.  Our growth from 30 to 100 employees in a short period of time is a great example of the growth many startup and venture based companies are experiencing in the area.  Their success is bringing more and more wealth and jobs to the city.  WP Engine, Tesla, and Oracle are just a few of the businesses who have a significant presence here.

It doesn’t feel like it when you live there, but Austin is actually the 11th largest city in America.  As of the last US Census the city recorded just over 964,000 permanent residents.  It grows at a rate of nearly 1.5% per calendar year.  The city offers a rare blend of great nightlife, warm weather, fun, and no state income tax.  That’s driven a very young, hungry, and disruption driven start-up economy.  Jobs, median household incomes, and property values are all ticking up in the area.  With an average age of just over 33, Austin is a great place for young adults to make a name for themselves and start a life.  I owe a lot of who I am to the city and the experiences I was immersed in there.  I loved Austin as I’m sure you do.

Driving in Austin

Driving in Austin can be a very hectic experience.  There are over 565,000 who work in and around the city.  They commute from areas as far as Round Rock and fill the roadways at exactly the same time five days a week.  The University of Texas and the state capital are also located here.  They contribute their share of regular drivers.  Don’t get me started on the booze carts rolling down sixth street and the hassle they cause!  Simply put, driving in Austin can be a stressful experience.  Traffic congestion, traffic collisions, and traffic citations were all things I saw regularly in my time there.

If you’re reading this page it’s likely that you have received a traffic citation for speeding or a distracted driving-related offense in the Austin area.  Use this opportunity.  Not only can you dismiss your ticket with a defensive driving refresher course, but you can become a safer driver too.  The residents of Austin will thank you for making the city a great place to live and drive when you do your part and take the defensive driving online course seriously.

Texas drivers are eligible to take a defensive driving course once every 18 months to dismiss a recent traffic ticket.  The price of such a course is minimal.  You can also complete this course with a top online provider so that you never have to leave your couch!
